Balladine is constructed in three registers — an upper yoke of openwork ecru square mesh stitch, braided ecru spaghetti straps tied at the shoulders, then horizontal bands of fan/shell stitch in a precise gradient: plum violet, mauve, dusty rose/salmon, sage green, and finally a bottom band of openwork ecru mesh stitch with a tight stitch border at the bottom.
