Overdressy — The creation
There are dresses you wear.
And then there are those you inhabit—those that pose a question to the observer, creating a space of mystery between the garment and the body, between what is seen and what is guessed.
Overdressy belongs to the second category.
Its name says it all: it's the dress that goes beyond the dress.
The one you layer, play with, interpret.
Or the one you wear alone—with whatever you dare underneath.
The construction unfolds in two registers of architectural precision.
The upper yoke weaves an alternation of horizontal bands—dense tight stitch, small oval mesh, large oval mesh—creating a play of textures that rigorously structures the bust.
The round neckline with picot scalloped edging and short sleeves with identical edges carefully frame the silhouette.
Then the body opens up.
The very large hexagonal mesh stitch takes center stage—each perfect hexagon with its X-shaped crossbars, of absolute regularity, entirely transparent.
An architectural veil. A geometric lace. Light passes through, as do gazes.
The lower band of diamond mesh and the scalloped fan/shell stitch border finish the piece with a generosity of detail that rewards those who look closely.
Overdressy can be worn over a nude bodysuit or a slip dress for controlled suggestion.
Over a swimsuit by the sea for assumed freedom.
With high-heeled sandals for a summer evening, ankle boots for autumn—it transitions through seasons and contexts without ever losing its presence.
