Dragon Fruit - The creation
Pitaya — the dragon fruit — is one of the most spectacular fruits there is. Its skin is an intense, almost unreal fuchsia pink, as if nature wanted to prove that it too could be extravagant.
Inside, the flesh is white, dotted with black seeds — the perfect contrast, the surprise after the announcement.
You'll find it in tropical markets, on the tables of trendy restaurants, in well-started morning smoothies.
Pitaya carries that color — and all the energy that comes with it.
The construction unfolds in two distinct and complementary registers.
The upper yoke in a very open, large-mesh fan/shell stitch opens the piece with lightness — transparent, airy, like a promise.
The round neckline with a scalloped edge and wide straps in a tight stitch with scalloped edges carefully frame the silhouette.
Then the body takes on its full density. The denser, structured fuchsia pink smaller-mesh fan/shell stitch unfolds its overlapping fans — each fan interlocking with the next in a continuous movement, creating a rich, opaque, vibrant texture.
The scalloped shell stitch bottom border finishes the piece with coherence.
Pitaya is worn over a pink or white swimsuit.
With gold sandals for sparkle, white flip-flops for a casual look. By the sea, at a festival, on a terrace.
Pitaya is the dress that says life is too short for dull colors.
