La Playa — The Creation
Lace is one of the oldest and most demanding textile arts. For centuries, it was reserved for queens and aristocrats — too long to make, too precious to wear, too fragile for everyday life.
Lace makers in Bruges, Venice, and Alençon spent months on a few centimeters of thread.
Each motif was a prayer. Each stitch, a testament to patience.
La Playa carries this heritage — and liberates it.
The construction begins in the design: the elaborate pineapple lace yoke unfurls its radiant fan motifs with picots in a luminous ecru beige.
This is crochet lace in its most accomplished form — openwork, geometric, with a precision that demands hours and a steady hand.
The round neck with a close-stitched border and the integrated short cap sleeves in the identical lace stitch frame the silhouette with absolute coherence.
Then the body lightens.
The very open and transparent large mesh oval fishnet stitch takes over — simpler, more open, allowing full expression of lightness.
The scalloped shell/fan stitch border at the bottom finishes the piece with that generosity of detail which is Cachalabibi's signature.
La Playa is worn over a nude or white swimsuit for an intentional transparency. At the beach with flat sandals, in the city over white jeans for a lunch on the terrace.
It is the dress that bridges the gap between the seaside and the street, between relaxation and elegance.
