Fogolino — Creation
Fogolino. In Friulian, small fire.
The language of northeastern Italy, that of the mountains and borders, that which has preserved words that others have lost.
The small fire is the most dangerous.
Not the blazing inferno that announces itself, not the flame that impresses – but the small fire that smolders, that endures, that always eventually takes hold.
The Fogolino has this nature: a piece that doesn't shout but makes its presence felt, that doesn't seek attention but captures it, that carries within it a contained energy that ultimately overwhelms everything.
The granny squares – burning red, vibrant turquoise, anise yellow, luminous green – are assembled on the openwork off-white background with a geometric precision that transforms color into architecture.
Each square is a decision, each color an affirmation.
The burning red that anchors. The vibrant turquoise that opens. The anise yellow that illuminates.
The luminous green that balances.
Together, they create a palette that vibrates with the intensity of a campfire at dusk.
