Altobella — The Creation
A musical score is one of the most beautiful inventions of the human mind.
Not because it fixes music — but because it frees it.
It gives each performer the same notes, the same rhythm, the same structure.
And yet, each interpretation is unique.
Because music, like fashion, truly exists only in the body of the one who wears it.
Altobella — the beauty in height — is a score.
Played by hand, one stitch at a time.
The construction unfolds in horizontal bands, alternating with musical precision: dense and opaque tight stitch, very open square mesh stitch, semi-open fan/shell stitch, large diamond mesh stitch.
Four stitches. Four textures. Four different ways of treating the same color — this luminous uniform sky/slate blue that runs through the entire dress like a leitmotif, like a tonality that doesn't change but reinvents itself with each measure.
The slightly flared boat neck and integrated wide straps structure the top with understated elegance.
The very fitted mermaid cut down to the knees follows the silhouette precisely.
And then, at the bottom, the wide, elaborate ruffled/flared volant in scalloped fan/shell stitch opens into a generous wave — the final flare, the resolution of the score, the last chord that lingers in the air.
Altobella can be worn with silver sandals for a summer evening, blue pumps for a monochromatic look, or golden mules for contrast.
It is the dress one chooses when one wants to be the music of the room.
