Violeta — The Creation
The story goes that an officer in Napoleon III's army, returning from a campaign in Italy, brought his fiancée in Toulouse a gift from Parma: violet plants. Viola odorata — the Parma violet, larger, more fragrant, more generous than the wild violets of the woods.
It acclimatized so well to the soil of Toulouse, to the mild climate of the Southwest, that it became the emblematic flower of the pink city. Bouquets, crystals, liqueurs, perfumes were made from it. An identity was forged from it.
Even today, in the old streets of Toulouse, you can find violets. In markets, in shops, in gardens.
This discreet and enchanting fragrance — neither too strong nor too timid — that floats in the warm spring air and evokes something you may never have experienced but still recognize.
Violeta was born from this fragrance.
From this precise color — Parma violet, neither too blue nor too pink, luminous and soft at the same time — which is the exact color of the Parma violet.
The construction plays on the alternation of textures like a variation on a single theme.
Horizontal bands echo each other: the openwork mesh stitch, transparent and light as a petal.
The fan and shell stitch, denser, more generous, which gives volume and movement.
These two registers alternate regularly, creating a fabric that breathes, that undulates slightly, that lives.
Slightly flared boat neck, short integrated cap sleeves, scalloped shell border at the bottom.
Slightly fitted straight cut that adapts to the silhouette without constraining it.
A violet that needs no justification.
