Tico-Tico — The Creation
Tico-Tico no Fubá — the 1917 Brazilian song that toured the world non-stop. A refrain that lodges itself in your head with the first chord and stays there, coming back unannounced, making your foot tap without you realizing it.
The tico-tico is also a small Brazilian bird — lively, colorful, hopping and singing with seemingly inexhaustible energy.
Tico-Tico was born from that refrain.
From that light, irresistible joy that needs no explanation.
The construction multiplies the stitches like variations on a single musical theme.
Horizontal bands alternate with abundant generosity: the fan and shell stitch, curved and scalloped.
The openwork hexagonal mesh stitch, geometric and transparent.
The square filet stitch, regular and structured.
The waves and chevrons stitch, undulating and rhythmic. Four different stitches, four textures, four moods — succeeding each other like the verses of a song.
And through it all, the self-striping multicolored yarn works its magic: fuchsia, golden yellow, emerald green, petrol blue, violet, black — these colors coexist in the same thread, revealing themselves band after band, changing appearance depending on the light and angle.
The piece is never quite the same twice.
Slightly flared boat neck, short integrated cap sleeves, straight, slightly fitted cut — identical front and back.
A top that doesn't need accessories. It's already everything.
