Quadrato — The creation

Quadrato. In Italian, "the square." The simplest shape—and, in the hands of a designer, the most subversive.

The granny square is the basic unit of crochet—the motif that all grandmothers once assembled, that all designers have one day reinvented.
Quadrato doesn't hide it. It embraces it, asserts it, and transforms it into something unexpected.

Orange, anise yellow, fuchsia pink, turquoise, olive green—five colors unafraid of each other, set against a black background that contains them, structures them, gives them their strength.
Black isn't there to calm the colors.
It's there to make them pop.

Each square is a piece within the piece—assembled by hand, joined by hand, conceived in its relationship to the others.

The black openwork base creates a lengthening effect on the silhouette, anchoring the composition in precise geometry.

The V-neckline creates a feminine and flattering line.

The wide straps provide elegant and comfortable support, without constraint.

The scalloped shell finishes at the bottom sign the creation with that artisanal precision that distinguishes handmade from everything else.

Quadrato can be worn with black jeans to give full play to the colors, with white pants for graphic contrast, or with a black skirt for background harmony.

Quadrato, for those unafraid to be noticed.

Entirely hand-crocheted in my French workshop.
