Ploum-Ploum — The Creation
Ploum-Ploum: a name that evokes softness and whimsy.
Two round, plush syllables, just like the piece itself.
A name that doesn't take itself too seriously, for a piece that, nonetheless, is crafted with absolute precision and ambition.
Ploum-Ploum's main feature is its striking two-tone design.
Not a gradient, not a gentle transition — a crisp boundary between the lilac pink of the body and the plum of the sleeves.
Two colors that are not afraid of each other.
Lilac pink — soft, romantic, slightly powdery — against plum — deep, intense, almost burgundy.
A contrast that speaks of both femininity and strength, softness and assertiveness.
The material is the foundational decision. Pure, thick, generous wool — worked in a dense textured stitch that creates an almost sculpted surface, with stitches interlocking with remarkable regularity and density.
To the touch, Ploum-Ploum is surprisingly soft and warm — one expects something heavy, but finds something enveloping.
This is the difference between industrial wool and hand-processed wool: the same material, but a different life.
The ecru scalloped edges are Ploum-Ploum's couture decision. Three lines of lace running across the piece — at the collar, at the junction between the pink body and the plum sleeves, and at the cuffs.
Each border is of absolute delicacy and lacemaker's precision — small, regular waves that create an effect of light and lightness on an otherwise dense and voluminous piece.
It is this contrast between the density of the wool and the delicacy of the scallops that gives Ploum-Ploum all its sophistication.
The sleeves are oversized — long, voluminous, generous.
They fall with an amplitude that speaks of freedom and comfort, transforming every gesture into something graceful.
With open, moving arms, Ploum-Ploum is a piece that liberates.
How to wear it?
Over high-waisted black slim-fit jeans — the black intensifies the plum of the sleeves, the lilac pink of the body radiates. The oversized cut against the fitted jeans creates a balanced and modern silhouette.
Over beige or camel tailored trousers — the neutral tones of the bottom allow the two-tone of Ploum-Ploum to take center stage, and the ecru borders resonate with the light background. This is the most editorial look.
Over a black midi skirt — the black of the skirt extends the plum of the sleeves, the lilac pink of the body creates a precise point of light.
This is the most romantic, most wintery look.
