Papayago — The creation
The sunset over the ocean is one of the most frequently occurring and inexhaustible spectacles.
We see it every day, all over the world, and yet it never ceases to amaze.
Because it doesn't truly repeat itself — every evening, the clouds are different, the air's humidity changes the refraction of light, and the colors unfold differently.
Vivid orange at the zenith, sliding towards salmon, then peach, then golden beige at the horizon, just before night takes over.
Papayago is that very sunset — captured in the thread, stitch by stitch.
The very openwork, large-mesh fan/shell stitch unfolds its patterns in a progressive shaded gradient of absolute precision — vivid orange/intense mandarin at the top, salmon/peach in the middle, sand beige/ecru at the bottom.
Each fan opens downwards with a picot at the top, creating an airy and entirely transparent texture.
Light passes through the dress as it passes through the atmosphere at dusk — filtered, colored, transformed.
The slightly flared round neckline with an orange scalloped edge and the wide straps in tight stitch with orange scalloped edges anchor the piece in its dominant color.
The bottom border in vivid orange scalloped shell stitch finishes the composition echoing the beginning — what began in intensity ends in intensity, and in between, all the softness of the gradient.
Papayago can be worn over a nude or orange swimsuit for coherence. With golden sandals for sparkle, white flip-flops for lightness. By the seaside at golden hour.
