Narcissula — The creation
The daffodil is a sun-loving flower.
It blooms in spring, often at the edge of fields or along paths, turning its corolla towards the sun with the quiet confidence of flowers that know exactly what they're doing.
Its petals — six, eight, depending on the variety — radiate around a raised center like rays of light around a star.
Narcisola — the daffodil and the sun, sol, merged into a single word — was born from this image: a flower worn proudly to cross the summer field.
The piece is built around a large central floral medallion in lace and pineapple stitch — an eight-petaled flower with a raised center, fan motifs radiating outwards like spreading light.
This medallion is identical front and back — perfect symmetry, as if the flower had grown there naturally, on both sides at once.
The golden and mustard yellow is uniform and luminous, that precise color of a daffodil in the midday sun, neither too pale nor too garish.
Around the medallion, the highly openwork diamond mesh stitch frames the flower on the sides and bottom — transparent, almost immaterial, allowing the skin to show through as if through a veil of light. The wide straps in tight stitch structure the shoulders.
The slightly flared round neckline opens gently. A chainette border finishes the piece at the bottom.
As if you were wearing a piece of the sun.
