Moscow — The Creation
In Italian, mosca means to fly. Not mechanical, calculated, horizontal flight — but free flight, like birds soaring effortlessly on thermals, carried by something invisible.
To fly in the blue skies to gain height, to free oneself from the weight of things. Mosca was born from this aspiration.
The chosen yarn is a navy and white melange — two colours twisted together even before being crocheted, creating a precious marine tweed effect that changes with the light and angle of view. In sunny weather, white dominates and the piece brightens.
In the shade, navy blue takes over and deepens. It's the same yarn, and it's a different piece.
The construction uses textured single crochet — dense, structuring, holding its shape without stiffness.
The front round neckline is modest, almost classic. Then you turn around, and the back opens into a deep plunging V that changes everything. The wide, structured straps frame this back like architecture.
The hand-worked, ribbed smocked waistband cinches the waist precisely — each smock stitch individually placed, creating that natural elastic effect that adapts to the wearer's body.
Mosca transitions from terrace to evening effortlessly.
