Mayabella — The creation
Some pieces aren't decided upon — they assert themselves, stitch by stitch, as an inevitability.
Mayabella was born from a desire for controlled complexity: not the complexity that is displayed, but the one that is discovered. From a distance, one sees a structured, elegant, almost demure beige top. Upon closer inspection, one understands that every inch has been conceived, constructed, and imbued with meaning.
The piece unfolds in three distinct sections that converse without blending.
The top is organized into vertical stripes crafted with alternating wave stitches — pastel purple, lilac, navy blue, sun yellow, mint green, sky blue — on an off-white background that tempers and unifies. These stripes are not printed: they are constructed thread by thread, each color change requiring manual re-working.
The waistband, in an openwork off-white fishnet stitch, subtly defines the waist with architectural lightness — a breathable transition.
The bottom incorporates the colors in horizontal bands, reversing the vertical rhythm of the top in a balance unique to this piece.
The V-neck, open at the front and back, lengthens the silhouette. The flared cap sleeves, edged with a hand-scalloped finish, provide that high-fashion detail that distinguishes a creation from a garment.
The yarn is 100% cotton — soft, breathable, with that natural drape that flatters without constraining. Mayabella can be worn with flowy ivory trousers for a total summer look, or with raw denim to temper its preciousness.
