Maglia. The Italian word for stitch — this fundamental word that refers to the crochet stitch, the knit, and the garment itself.
A name that expresses the essence of the thing, directly.
Maglia is a short smock — not a poncho, not a sweater, not a top.
A smock: this sailor's garment reinterpreted as a fashion piece, with a short, fitted cut that speaks to modernity and femininity at the same time.
The construction of Maglia is a conversation between three languages.
At the top, ecru openwork fans.
Fan patterns follow one another in regular rows from the collar, creating a play of transparency and lightness that lightens the top of the piece.
The ecru is luminous, almost white — it catches the light and creates an area of clarity around the face and shoulders.
The short sleeves repeat the same language — light, openwork, scalloped at their ends with lacemaker's precision.
In the center, the striped yoke.
Horizontal bands of beige, tobacco, and caramel follow one another with rhythmic regularity — three warm and earthy tones that create subtle and sophisticated chromatic depth.
This is the densest, most structured area of the piece — it anchors Maglia in warmth and material, after the airy lightness of the top.
At the bottom, the scalloped border in ecru shells.
Delicate, precise, applied with the patience of a lacemaker — it concludes the composition on a note of purity and lightness, a return to the ecru of the top that creates perfect chromatic coherence.
Each shell is identical to the last. This is Maglia's signature.
