Glycine — The creation
A sweater, like a cascade of flowers that highlights an allure
Glycina. Like the climbing plant with clusters of mauve flowers that cascade down in spring with almost excessive generosity. A soft, slightly bluish lavender, belonging to ancient gardens and stone walls covered with flowers.
Glycina is constructed using two crochet languages, two densities, and a single color.
At the top, the yoke is in large granny square stitch — graphic, openwork, almost architectural. The squares interlock with precise regularity, allowing light to pass through generously.
This is the lightest part of the piece, giving Glycina its bohemian character — a reference to the granny square, that ancestral crochet motif, reinterpreted with contemporary rigor.
Below, the main body is in small mesh fishnet stitch — denser, more structured, closer to the body.
The fishnet slightly hugs the silhouette, creating a supportive area that contrasts with the lightness of the yoke.
It is this contrast in densities that gives Glycina its discreet sophistication.
The lavender ribbed bottom band is a structuring decision.
It precisely marks the base of the piece, creating a clean horizontal line that anchors the composition.
And then — a couture detail — the same ribs are found on the sleeve cuffs. This is not by chance: it is a coherence, an attention to detail that shows every part of the piece has been thought out in relation to the others.
The slightly puffed short sleeves fall with measured amplitude — they gently cover the shoulder, creating a romantic volume that lightens the silhouette.
The very generous boat neckline exposes the collarbones with natural elegance.
How to wear it
Over plum or aubergine slim-fit jeans — the palette's tones resonate with lavender, making the piece a sophisticated monochrome in a floral palette.
Over white slim-fit jeans — lavender against white is a perfect spring palette. The granny square yoke shines,
the ribs provide structure.
Over a white or cream midi skirt — Glycina becomes a romantic piece. The generous boat neckline, the puffed sleeves, the soft lavender — this is the most feminine, most poetic look.
Over pearl grey or lavender tailored trousers — the piece is anchored in a cool, soft palette.
This is the most unexpected, most sophisticated look.
