Gitana — The Creation
Gitana — the gypsy woman, she who travels and carries with her all the colors of the world — was born from this idea.
Mosaic is one of the oldest and most patient arts humanity has invented.
Tessera after tessera, fragment after fragment, an image is born from the juxtaposition of small distinct elements — each incomplete alone, all necessary together.
The Romans covered their floors and baths with them.
The Byzantines adorned their basilicas with golden light. Wherever mosaic appeared, it said the same thing: beauty is born from assembly.
The construction is of absolute richness.
The dense and very structured granny square stitch weaves a chromatic mosaic where each square forms a raised diamond in a distinct color: burnt orange, vivid red, sun yellow, lavender purple, sky blue, anise green.
Six colors. Six territories. A single piece that contains them all.
The multicolored ribbed waistband with an orange drawstring anchors the skirt in its most vibrant energy.
The scalloped yellow fan stitch bottom border finishes the piece with lightness — a final graceful gesture after so much structure.
The cut is a sheath, very fitted, maxi 98 cm.
It hugs the body, follows it, accompanies it with every step.
Worn with a plain top — white, black, or in one of its colors — it is the whole look.
Worn with an oversized jacket, it becomes a contrast.
It adapts to the wearer, like all pieces with character.
