Campanula — The Creation
There are colors that don't ask permission. The purple of the Campanulo is one of them.
The campanula grows where you least expect it—in cracks in walls, along roadsides, between stones.
It doesn't need a garden to exist.
It chooses its spot, settles in, and blooms with quiet grace and an undeniable presence. This top does exactly that.
The purple of the Campanulo is not a demure color.
It's not the pale purple of dried flowers nor the garish purple of neon lights—it's a deep, vibrant purple that changes with the light.
In the morning, it's almost blue.
In the evening, it turns plum. It refuses to be reduced to a single interpretation.
The chosen stitch plays with transparency—tight where structure is needed, openwork where the skin can breathe.
The network of stitches creates a breathable pattern on the bust, allowing light to pass through in calculated fragments.
This isn't the transparency of lightness—it's the transparency of precision.
The cut is short, fitted, sharp.
It owns its look without trying to please everyone—and that's exactly why it pleases. The neckline frames, the straps sit just right, the silhouette asserts itself effortlessly.
The Campanulo can be worn with a long skirt for summer, under a structured jacket for autumn, or with high-waisted trousers for in-between seasons. It adapts to the time, the mood, the season—but it always remains itself: a piece with character.
Between 30 and 60 hours of crochet were needed for each stitch to find its place. Not one too many. Not one too few.
Entirely hand-crocheted in my French workshop.
