Lovely Summer — The Creation
Bel Été: two words that say it all.
Light, lightness, overflowing color, joy that needs no justification.
The base of the garment is ecru. A large, openwork diamond stitch, completely transparent—light as a breath, almost immaterial. It's against this silent background that the friezes appear.
- At the top, a border of multicolored shell stitch—dense, highly textured, almost sculptural. Bright blue, fuchsia pink, sun yellow, emerald green, burgundy, turquoise. Six colors that don't clash—they follow each other with the regularity of an ancient frieze, each shell placed against the next with millimeter precision.
- At the bottom of the garment, the same frieze is repeated, identical, in perfect mirror image. What you see at the top, you find at the bottom—the composition is closed, balanced, complete.
It is this symmetry that makes Bel Été an architectural piece as much as a fashion item.
The transparent ecru background is the silence between two sentences.
The multicolored friezes are the sentences themselves—vivid, assertive, joyful.
The wide, soft boat neck elegantly reveals the shoulders and collarbones with natural grace.
The short, dropped sleeves cover the shoulder without emphasizing it.
The cut is loose and relaxed, identical front and back—Bel Été can be worn both ways, reversed without losing its shape.
Ideas for you?
Over white slim-fit jeans—white amplifies the luminosity of the colors, the ecru background resonates with the white of the jeans. The multicolored friezes take center stage.
This is the most summery, most direct look.
Over beige or natural linen shorts—the piece transforms into sophisticated beachwear. Linen against ecru, colors against sand. From the seaside to the terrace without changing.
Over white or ivory flowing trousers—Bel Été becomes a light evening piece. The multicolored friezes glow in the evening light, the dropped sleeves create movement.
Over raw or distressed denim jeans—the contrast between the denim and the transparent ecru creates a perfect bohemian look.
The colors of the friezes vibrate against the blue of the jeans.
