Aperturo — Creation
In Italian, aperturo means 'opening'.
Not a half-open door — a frank, generous opening that invites without restraint.
That's exactly what this piece does: it opens up to light, to air, to view.
The construction is based on a large mesh square grid stitch — one of the most airy stitches there is.
Each square is an empty space framed by yarn, a tiny window that, multiplied hundreds of times, creates a fabric that is almost not a fabric at all.
Aperturo is entirely openwork, almost transparent — it doesn't hide, it reveals. Working this stitch in large mesh requires absolute regularity: the slightest uneven tension is immediately visible, with no texture to hide it.
On this silver-grey background — neutral, modern, suitable for all seasons — horizontal stripes cross the body like flashes of color: coral red, sun yellow.
The neckline is edged with a golden yellow that subtly signs the piece. These colors are not printed: they are built row after row, each color change requiring a manual re-threading of the yarn.
Adjustable ties on the sides allow for shaping the silhouette — tightened, they cinch; loose, they let the piece float freely. Aperturo can be worn over a bodysuit, a swimsuit, or a nude lining, depending on your mood and the occasion.
